Who am I?My name is Lee Elia and I am a photographer interested in many subjects. I am creative and versatile, always professional, and easy to work with. My beginning as a photographer and artist dates back to 1973. Initially I worked mainly in a photojournalistic style, with forays into artistic landscape and still life photography. Nowadays, I devote most of my attention to photographing people, particularly from the fringes of society, where I seem to end up so often. I draw my subjects from the interesting (and interesting-looking) people I meet. My favorite photographers include Andreas Feininger, the Westons, Ansel Adams, Ruth Bernhard, Helmut Newton, Eric Kroll, Steve Diet Goedde, and Ben Westwood. My PhotographyMy present interests are in photo essays/stories; photographing nature, old buildings, gothic fashion, glamour and erotic, and artistic fetish, nude, and pregnant photography. I work mainly on location with natural light, playing with lighting and perspective, in both black & white and color. Some of my work has an edgy look that I enjoy cultivating, but I also work with classic and timeless glamour, portrait and fashion styles. I can do test shoots, and happily do TFP (time for prints -- bartering photos with models) for interesting projects with models who will work with me -- email me if you have something interesting you want to try and you're willing trade some time for it -- I'll consider all offers. I am always looking for new people to photograph. I am located in Norfolk Virginia, and I travel regularly to Long Island NY and New York City. If you are located in or near any of these areas, or will be visiting, please let me know and we'll see what we can do. Who are You?If you have something to say about photography or are interested in being in my photos, please email me. All
